PST Enterprise will automatically locate all PST files wherever they exist across the organization, by systematically scanning end user devices, network drives, removable devices, and Outlook profiles. Files will be discovered whether they are connected to an Outlook profile or not, and can be accessed even if they are password‑protected.
PST Enterprise does not require any client software to be installed. The non-invasive client application is downloaded automatically as required, and runs in the background in memory. This ensures that end users will not be impacted by the PST file discovery process.
The fully automatic migration process means user intervention is not required at any stage during the discovery, management and migration of PST files. In addition, the folder structure within the source PST can be fully mirrored with the target location to ensure a seamless transition for users.
PST Enterprise will automatically assign an owner for each PST file it has discovered. If the file is currently connected to user’s Outlook profile, that user is assumed to be the owner. Otherwise it will perform an in-depth analysis of the PST file and assign an owner based on the file contents.
The self-service web portal is an optional feature that enables end users to decide how each of their PST files will be processed. It can be configured to determine which files and data items will be retained and where they will be migrated to, and is ideal for use by senior managers or by users with sensitive data.
