President and CEO

Hatem joined Barracuda in 2016, bringing more than 25 years of experience building and delivering innovative products in enterprise software, cloud services, data center virtualization, software defined networking, and security. Hatem has deep technical and domain expertise in security, and strong customer and operational focus. Under his leadership, the team has successfully launched several offerings in email, network, application security, and integrated products. Hatem has been instrumental in the successful cloud transformation of Barracuda through his vision for Barracuda's leading security solutions and by continually expanding its operational capabilities to meet the security challenges faced by businesses and institutions today.

Fleming Shi
CTO

Fleming joined Barracuda in 2004 as the founding engineer for the company's web security product offerings, helping to create the first version of Barracuda's message archiving product and paving the way for expansion into new content security product areas. As Chief Technology Officer, Fleming leads the company's threat research and innovation engineering teams in building future technology platforms to deliver continued success in our security and data protection products. He has more than 20 patents granted or pending in network and content security.

Tim Jefferson
SVP Engineering, Data Protection, Network Security, and Application Security

Tim is the Senior Vice President of Barracuda's Data Protection, Network Security, and Application Security product division, overseeing strategy and product development in the areas of data protection, network security, and application security. He has 20 years of experience in the tech industry, previously serving as Head of Security Ecosystem at AWS. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of California Santa Barbara.

Klaus Gheri
VP Network Security

Klaus Gheri is Chairman of the Board and VP & GM Network Security at Barracuda Networks AG. Together with Wieland Alge and Peter Marte, he founded the IT security company phion in 2000, which was taken over by Barracuda Networks two years after its IPO in 2007. Gheri studied theoretical physics at the University of Innsbruck and the University of Auckland. Before entering entrepreneurship, the physicist, who holds a post-doctoral degree in Innsbruck, spent several years researching quantum communication in the group led by Anton Zeilinger and Peter Zoller.
