OVERVIEW

You may wish to use MFCMAPI to create a static MAPI profile for use with the ArchiveOne services which then may be used for diagnostic purposes.

Profile Creation Prerequisites

When creating a static profile for Exchange 2007/ 2010 you will need to know the Exchange CAS server name / mailbox name. For a profile connecting to Exchange 2013 you will need to know an Exchange CAS server name and the SMTP address of the ArchiveOne service account.

You can obtain the Exchange Mailbox Guid for a mailbox on Exchange 2013 in a number of different ways.

Using Outlook to obtain the Exchange Mailbox Guid

  1. Log on to a machine with Outlook installed as the ArchiveOne service account and setup an email account profile in Outlook if one has not already been created. Instructions on how to setup the email account can be found here Outlook email setup.
Now the account is setup you can obtain the Exchange Mailbox Guid by following these steps.

  2. For Outlook 2007: On the Tools menu, click Account Settings

    1. Select the email account you want to change, and then click Change.

    2. In the Server: field select the Exchange Mailbox Guid it will look similar to this: 7c5f4f53-560e-4acf-87e1-5ec35be65c45@whatever.com

  1. For Outlook 2010, 2013 and 2016: In Outlook, choose File > Account Settings > Account Settings

    1. Select the email account you want to change, and then click Change.

    2. In the Server: field select the Exchange Mailbox Guid it will look similar to this: 7c5f4f53-560e-4acf-87e1-5ec35be65c45@whatever.com

Using Exchange Management Shell to obtain the Exchange Mailbox Guid

  1. On the Exchange CAS Server launch the Exchange Management Shell

    1. Type the following get-mailbox -Identity <UserName> | select ExchangeGuid | >C:\ExchangeMailboxGuid.txt where username is the name of the ArchiveOne service account. The PowerShell query will output the Exchange Guid to a file called ExchangeMailboxGuid.txt on the root of C:\

Using the C2C AutoDiscover Tool to obtain the Exchange Mailbox Guid

  1. Instructions on how to use the C2C AutoDisover Tool can be found here https://www.barracuda.com/support/knowledgebase/50160000000uPTB you want to enter the UPN and the email address for the service account. Once the discovery has succeeded in the output window of the C2C Autodiscover Tool you should see a line stating with Server= preceded by the Exchange Mailbox Guid e.g. Server=7c5f4f53-560e-4acf-87e1-5ec35be65c45@whatever.com
