What should I do about my netfence E-appliance displaying the wrong temperature (or possible sticking fans)?

Scope: This solution replies to:
- NG Firewall firmware versions 4.2.x, 5.0.x
- netfence firmware versions 4.2.x

With netfence-E appliances sometimes unreasonable high or low Temperatures and/or Fan-speeds are displayed at Control > System in ngadmin.


An error in the shipped BIOS-version causes this issue.
A new BIOS-version is available, contact Barracuda Support if you are facing this problem.
