How can I change the IP address and other network information on my Barracuda Networks Project without using the web-based interface?

Solution #00003971

Scope:
All Barracuda Networks products, all firmware versions.

Answer:

The Barracuda device is given a default IP address of 192.168.200.200. You can change this address by doing either of the following:

  • Connect directly to the Barracuda device with a VGA monitor and a PS/2 keyboard to specify a new IP address through the console interface.
  • To connect directly to the Barracuda device to set a new IP address:

    1. At the barracuda login prompt enter admin for the login and admin for the password. The User Confirmation Requested window will display the current IP configuration of the system.
    2. Using the Tab key, select Yes to change the IP configuration.
    3. Enter the new IP address, netmask, and default gateway for your Barracuda device, and select OK when finished.
    4. Select No when prompted if you want to change the IP configuration. Upon exiting the screen, the new IP address and network settings will be applied to the Barracuda device.
Additional Notes:
You can reset the Barracuda system IP by pushing and holding the Reset button. Below is a breakdown of this feature across product models:

Barracuda Spam & Virus Firewall:
  • Holding the Reset button for 5 seconds changes the IP address to 192.168.200.200.
  • Holding the Reset button for 8 seconds changes the IP address to 192.168.1.200.
  • Holding the Reset button for 12 seconds changes the IP address to 10.1.1.200.
All other Barracuda devices:
  • Holding the Reset button for 8 seconds changes the IP address to 192.168.1.200.
  • Holding the Reset button for 12 seconds changes the IP address to 10.1.1.200.
