Can I export my Barracuda Networks product's logs to a text or a CSV file?

Solution #00001681

Scope:
This solution applies to all Email Security Gateways, firmware versions 3.4.09 and above.
This solution applies to all Barracuda Web Filters, all firmware versions.
This solution applies to all Barracuda IM Servers, all firmware versions.
This solution applies to all Barracuda Load Balancers, all firmware versions.

Answer:
For Email Security Gateways, firmware 3.4.09 introduced the ability to export the Message Log to a CSV file. Follow the steps below to export the Message Log to a CSV file.

  1. Navigate to the Basic > Message Log page of the Barracuda's web interface.
  2. Filter for the messages you wish to export.
  3. Click the Export to CSV button near the top of the page.
For Barracuda Web Filters, use these steps to export the logs to a CSV file.
  1. Navigate to the Basic > Web Log page of the Barracuda's web interface.
  2. Filter for the logs you wish to export.
  3. Click the Export to CSV button near the top of the page.
For Barracuda IM Servers, use these steps to export the logs to a CSV file.
  1. Navigate to the Logs/Reports > Message Log page of the Barracuda's web interface.
  2. Filter for the logs you wish to export.
  3. Click the Export to CSV button near the top of the page.
For Barracuda Load Balancers, use these steps to export the logs to a CSV file.
  1. Navigate to the Basic > Event Log page of the Barracuda's web interface.
  2. Filter for the logs you wish to export.
  3. Click the Export button near the top of the page.
Additional Notes:
This feature is not designed to export the entire Message Log of the Email Security Gateway. It exists so you can export specific filters or searches in the Message Log. If your message log is large (over 50,000 entries) and the Email Security Gateway is in production, it may fail to generate a CSV file. In these cases, you will need to filter for a smaller subset of the messages in your Message Log before exporting them.

This applies to the Barracuda Web Filter, Barracuda IM Server, and Barracuda Load Balancer logs as well. You should first filter for the log information you would like to export before initiating the export operation.
