Barracuda Web Application Firewall Praised for Strong Enterprise Security Features

Campbell, Calif. (October 15, 2012) – Barracuda Networks Inc., a leading provider of security, networking and data protection solutions, today announced that it has won SearchSecurity’s Readers’ Choice Bronze Award for Best of Web Application Firewalls 2012. SearchSecurity Readers’ Choice Awards are presented to vendors who garner the most votes from end-users, representing one of the strongest endorsements by IT professionals.

For this annual award, readers vote on the best Web Application Firewall products, including standalone Web application firewalls and WAFs that are part of application acceleration and delivery systems. The Barracuda Web Application won the bronze, “garnering a strong rating for its ability to block intrusions, attacks and unauthorized network traffic.” A scalable enterprise security solution that is easy to deploy and manage, the Barracuda Web Application Firewall was praised for providing “administrators with the ability to enforce granular user application access policies.”

“We are pleased with this recognition from SearchSecurity and its readers,” said Michael Van Bruinisse, general manager and vice president of Barracuda Enterprise. “On the heels of launching our enterprise business unit and the Barracuda Web Application Firewall being named an 'Innovator' by Info-Tech Research Group, this award is a testament to our proven technology and further differentiates Barracuda Networks within the application security and delivery markets.”

The Barracuda Web Application Firewall integrates security, scalability and application performance into a next generation Application Delivery Controller platform for highly secure and scalable Web applications. To learn more, visit www.barracudanetworks.com/waf.
