Barracuda Networks is a strong believer in preserving the environment and recycling materials. We comply with all the regulations related to this including:
WEEE - Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment is a Directive of the European Union which aims to minimize Environmental Damage from discarded end-of-life electrical products. The Directive holds the Brand Owner or Producer responsible for the discarded product physically and financially. It encourages optimum environmental product design. At end-of-life it promotes Reuse, then Recycling, then Recovery as preferable alternatives to dumping in land fills.
Barracuda Networks is monitoring the implementation of WEEE legislation and other types of waste control legislation in each country and verifying that it is in compliance. We want to do what is best for the environment throughout the world.
If you need assistance in disposing of any Barracuda Networks products or materials please contact us for immediate assistance.
The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment."
This Directive will ban the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants from 1 July 2006.
Barracuda Networks products are ROHS compliant. Our products are classified as Network Infrastructure Equipment. The ROHS Annex gives exception to these types of equipment for the use of lead solder for reliability.
Reliability is very important for network security equipment and in Barracuda Networks products. We have worked to eliminate all the substances possible including lead from Barracuda Networks products without sacrificing reliability.
